Who do they apply to?
Everyone, nobody is excused from them, and it is the users responsibility to keep up to date with any changes to the rules which may occur.

Yes, the Site Administrator reserves the right to change the forum rules at any time without notice.

Acceptable Behaviour

Aggressive Behaviour
Aggressive behavior towards members, or staff will not be tolerated. Where a member is found to be bullying, insulting or threatening another member they will be banned without warning.

Harassment
Moderators will be responsible for the policing of the forum and any decision that could lead to a member being banned will be referred to and only be made by an Administrator. If a Moderator feels that a member has contravened the rules to a point that a banning is required then that Moderator is to notify a member of Admin of the circumstances involved.

Language
Moderate profanity is allowed. HOWEVER, excessive or vulgar profanities, or profanity directed at others in an insulting manner will not be tolerated. Making remarks that could be construed as Racist or Homophobic are to be avoided. Attempting to bypass the swear filter by creative use of other characters is not permitted and may result in the thread or post being removed and a warning given to the offender. Too many warnings will result in an account ban.

Posting

Posts
Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning. Members should post in a way which is consistent with normal writing. That is users should not post excessive numbers of emotions, large, small or coloured text,or use "text talk" like "b4" instead of "before" or "teen talk" eg adding the end letter or a word twice at the end etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT, use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts or use AlTeRnAtE cApS. DO NOT post off topic nonsense simply to raise your post count, which is a good way to become disliked. Always respect members at all times, do not go into a persons topic purely for the purposes of causing trouble. Do not post excessively large images for no reason or without warning. Sending other users private messages (PMs) to advertise something unrelated to the website will receive a warning. Repeat offenders will be banned from the website/forums. Users consistently abusing this will be warned. If members note an issue which contravenes something in the forum rules, they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of staff via the "Report" button on every post.

Topics
When posting a new topic, please make sure the topic has not already been posted and discussed before hand. Topics should be started in the most suitable forum, if a topic has been started in the wrong forum it will be moved to the appropriate forum by a Moderator. Frequently starting topics in the wrong forum will lead to a warning being issued to the member. Please do not post topic titles all in capital letters. If you are unsure where a post should go, please ask a Moderator.

Private Messaging
Private Messaging is provided to the members of TWSForum as a service intended to enhance the Community experience. The purpose of private messaging is to allow for discreet conversations to take place between members. This privilege is not to be abused! Solicitation, spamming, or harassment of any kind is strictly forbidden. Any member receiving an inappropriate private message should forward that message to an Administrator or Moderator immediately. Although private messages are normally only accessible by those who send and receive them, they are part of the database and as such, property of TWSForum. An Administrator, if so inclined, could locate the Private Messages in the database and read them. They are private, but not necessarily secret. In addition, Private Messages are not intended to deprive the Community of valuable information or experiences which could benefit the entire group (this includes spoilers). You have the right to report a PM to a Moderator / Administrator if you feel you are being harassed by another member via the Private Messaging system.

Spamming
Multiple links to external sites in order to attract traffic there for personal gain or to promote forums of a similar nature to TWSForum with the intention of acquiring members for that site will not be tolerated. I will accept links to external sites, but this must not be abused. Affiliate links posted for personal gain are not allowed unless the forum administrator agrees prior to them being posted. e-Lottery links are allowed but please do not spam our forums. Warnings will be given and users banned if necessary.

Shouting
No SHOUTING, using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in posts is considered shouting or yelling. It is considered rude & can be extremely hard to read. Posts submitted in all-caps will be deleted.

If you wish to have a lengthy conversation with someone, please use the private message facility.

Advertising
No advertising allowed of any Kind is permitted without the permission of the site administrator. Advertising for financial gain is not allowed on TWSForum under any circumstances without the prior agreement of the site administrator. Any topic or post that is advertising an item for your own financial gain will be removed from the forum and a warning may be issued at the discretion of the forum moderators.

Content
Any discussion causing disrespect of others, fueling heated arguements or provoking distress in other site members will be removed. The sale of copied games, music, videos or other software, no matter how stated or implied, is not permitted. Likewise, such products may not be offered for zero cost. Posting links or discussion of obtaining copywritten material illegally (ie. games, music, movies etc) is not permitted and such topics and/or posts will be deleted.

Posting links to illegal/pornographic websites is not allowed and strictly prohibited. Links to any affiliate program other than e-Lottery are not allowed and will be removed.

Use of Images

Images
When posting photographs / images please remember that your images will be visible to all members / public. The posting of explicit adult material will be not be tolerated. Any violation to this rule will result in the offending photograph / image being removed and a warning sent to the offender. Three warnings and the right to use Avatars or Signatures will be removed for the offender. Continuation will result in a ban.

Avatars
Avatars are viewable by everyone, so any user Avatar must be free from any lewd or profanic material. The maximum size permitted for Avatars is a 100x100 pixel frame with a file size of no more than 60kb. Lightly animated GIF files are allowed, but static JPG or GIF files are preferred. Avatars breaking these rules will be replaced by a warning image. If this rule is broken 3 times, your ability for avatars will be removed. Under no occurances must any material displayed contain profane, lewd or adult content. Any avatars found or reported breaking these rules will be replaced with a warning image.

Signatures
Image Signatures - A maximum of one image is allowed. Images must not have a width greater than 500 Pixels Images must not have a height greater than 100 Pixels

Text Signatures - Text Lines Must Be 5 Lines Or Under, if Small or Normal text size is used. Including blank spacer lines. Text Lines Must Be 3 Lines Or Under, if Large text size is used. Including blank spacer lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 500 pixels. Text Lines cannot use Huge or Tiny text size. Small, Normal or Large only.

Image & Text Signatures - One Image with the dimensions 500 X 100 pixels may be used with one line of Small or Normal size text. Text Lines cannot use Tiny, Large or Huge text size. Small or Normal only. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 500 pixels.

Violations - Signatures breaking these rules will receive a polite Private Message asking the user to amend their signature so that it adheres to these rules. The user will have 48 hours to amend their signature otherwise their signature will be replaced by the forum Administrator.

If a user breaks the rules for a second time during a three month period, they will receive a warning & be asked to amend their signatre within 48 hours. Failure to do so will result in the forum Administrator replacing their signature.

If two warnings need to be issued to a user for breaking signature rules within a 3 month period, their ability to have a signature will be removed for 3 months.

Explicit Material
Posting or linking to sexually explicit remarks or any type of pornographic images is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. This is a banning offence and will not be tolerated for a second. Offenders will be dealt in an appropriate manner. As signatures, avatars, profile pics etc are viewable in all parts of the forum, any adult content found or reported in these sections will be removed and the offending member reprimanded accordingly.

Warnings

Warning System
TWSForum operates a four strike policy. Users will be warned a maxim third warning, a temporary ban will be imposed. If the need arises for a fourth warning a permanent ban will be imposed. Arguing with staff members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed three strikes a permanent ban will be put in place as above. Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the Moderator who issued the warning. If you feel the Moderators response is still unfair, you may contact the Site Administrator. The Site Administrators decision is final. Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account of evade an email ban. An exception to the three strike rule applies when users contact members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban. Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them.

Miscellaneous

Usernames
Usernames may only be changed by applying to an Administrator to do so. Impersonating others is not allowed. If you are found to be trying to falsely impersonate or fraudulently represent another user, person, or party, TWSForum reserves the right to move, edit, or delete your posts/topics/account. Celebrity real name usernames are reserved for celebrities only.

Hacking
Attempts to hack the forums or access features you normally are not allowed to, will result in an IP ban. If you discover any problems with the board that may be abused please report them immediately to a member of staff.

FAO Posting
NO "For the Attention Of:" posts whatsoever in any forum. The use of email or private messaging is to be used instead.

Public Information
Messages posted on our discussion board are the opinions of the individuals who post them, and do not necessarily represent the opinions of TWSForum. Any information disclosed on our discussion board becomes public information.

Use Of The Forum Name
Under no circumstances should any member of TWSForum enter into any Contract for and on behalf of TWSForum.co.uk without the prior consent of the Site Administrator. Likewise, use of the forum name when trying to arrange discounts etc without the prior authorization of the Site Administrator is strictly prohibited.

You are allowed one account. You may not register more than one account . If you are found to be using more than one, all of your accounts may be disabled.

Forum Staff

Moderators
Treat the Moderators with respect. Do not post messages attacking the Moderators or Administrators. All of the Moderators on this discussion board are volunteers. They provide their time and their good judgment to this web site free of charge. They do not make the rules; they only enforce the rules.

Moderators will be responsible for the policing of the forum and any decision that could lead to a member being banned will be referred to and only be made an Administrator. If a Moderator feels that a member has contravened the rules to a point that a banning is required then that Moderator is to notify a member of Admin of the circumstances involved.

If you think something requires the attention of the Moderators, please click the "Report Post" icon on the post in question. This will send an email message to the Moderator(s) so they can address the problem next time they login to the forum.

Please be aware that Moderators are not expected to be online all the time, and therefore they cannot respond immediately to every problem that arises on this discussion board. If you send an alert or complaint to a Moderator, please give that Moderator sufficient time to respond. Do not assume that a Moderator is ignoring your concerns merely because he or she does not respond as quickly as you would like.

When a Moderator enforces the message board rules, members are expected to respect their authority and abide by their decisions. If you disagree with a Moderator's decision, you are encouraged to politely explain why you disagree.

Do not send rude, dismissive, or disrespectful responses to the Moderators. If you think a Moderator has acted inappropriately, please contact one of the Administrators privately so we can deal with it.

Do not publicly post private messages you receive from Moderators and Administrators.

Occasionally, the Site Administrator or Moderators of TWSForum will make decisions that might not be to your liking or are not popular. It is impossible to please everyone, all of the time. If you would like to discuss a Moderators or Administrators decision, please do so politely and respectfully. Please accept that sometimes we must act on behalf of the majority to keep the peace.
